MITSOM College

MITSOM College was established in the year 2004, under the aegis of Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER) Pune. The principal objective of this course is to provide quality undergraduate education in professional courses like business administration, foreign trade, computer application etc. All these courses are affiliated to The University of Pune.

Extra curricular activities

MITSOM College has a wide variety of academic and special interest groups that are supervised either by the department or section heads (Academic) or by the Cultural Committee formed by the students. The students have opportunities to explore and express interest in the activity of their choice. The College atmosphere helps the students to shape their own career.

Students are a constant source of innovation and MITSOM College encourages initiatives of new students that improve the MITSOM experience. Whether it is organizing and participating in intercollegiate activities, organizing industrial visits or volunteering for community projects, MITSOM College is the place to develop new skill and experience, new personal, academic and social challenges. Here you will find a community rich with opportunities to develop your leadership skills, both in the classroom and within the co-curricular environment.

Competitions

MITSOM College students participate in various intercollegiate competitions organized by other colleges. In addition many interclass competitions such as debate, business quiz, poster making etc are organized every year.

Sports

In addition our students find time to participate in various sports activities such as hockey, cricket, badminton, table tennis, volleyball etc.

Annual Social Gathering

Students can display their talents in the Annual Social gathering organized by MITSOM every year. Many competitions such as Rangoli, Mehendi, Salad and flower decoration etc are organized and there is active participation by the students.

College Magazine

MITSOM College publishes annual college magazine ‘JAGRUTI’ which reflects the thoughts and ideas of the young MITSOM generation

Industrial Visits

The students are taken to various leading industries and facilities such as ports in order to get the practical exposure to what they learn in the classroom. The students submit the report on their visits and make the individual presentation of the same.

MITSOM College Facilities

MITSOM College provides excellent facilities in terms of library, computer lab, cafeteria, auditorium, student sit outs and so on.

Computer Lab

MITSOM houses a centrally air-conditioned computer laboratory with 50 Pentium IV dedicated workstations networked with two servers. Students have 24-hour free Internet access.
MITSOM has two servers loaded with various software like Oracle, Visual Studio, Java, Coral Draw, and Linux, which are accessible from all workstations. Qualified lab assistants are available to guide students

Library

The library has a collection of more than 2000 books on management. It also subscribes to over 50 national and international journals/magazines. It also has CD’s on various subjects.

Cafeteria/Relaxation Room

Full Fledged cafeteria is available at MIT’s campus. In addition, a relaxation room is provided for students within MITSOM building where tea, coffee, snacks, soft drinks etc are available. TV is available in the relaxation room to watch news channels and educational films. This facilitates students to relax and gain some information during schedule break.
