MIT Group

With the objective to harness the knowledge of science and technology for the welfare of the society, Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research, Pune (MAEER) was established on 21st June, 1983, under the Societies Registration Act. (Trust Regn. No F-2555, Pune, dated 24th October 1983). MAEER was established as one of the pioneers of unaided educational conglomerate in the early 1980’s to provide an alternative to the inadequate educational facilities provided by the Government. This was after long deliberations by visionaries in the academia and industry. To mention a few, whose unique contributions helped in starting this movement are Prof. (Dr.) Vishwanath D. Karad, Adv. B. E. Avhad, Prof. S. J. Bhide, Prof. P. B. Joshi and Dr. Suresh Ghaisas. MAEER is better known by its 'flagship brand MIT' (Maharashtra Institute of Technology), which is a world famous engineering institute. MIT, over the period of 21 years has grown to 29 citadels of learning in the areas of Engineering, Management, Medicine and others; forming the MIT Group of Institutes. MIT cherishes the principle of Swami Vivekananda “Union of Science and Religion alone will bring harmony and peace to the humanity.” MIT School of Management (MITSOM) is another well known member of MAEER family.
