Mitsom Student's International Study Tour to Florida


 

International visit to University of South Florida, Tampa (US)


MIT-SOM College had organized an International visit to University Of South Florida, Tampa (USF) from 24th November to 6th December, 2011.
The invitation of the said International visit was sent by USF. 16 students and 2 faculty members (Mrs.Pallavi Adya- BBM-IB & MS. Sumita Joshi-BBA) participated in this campus visit. The stay on USF campus was arranged from November 27 – December 2, 2011 especially for MITSOM College students. The accommodation, food, transportation, events, field visits were taken care by USF.


On the arrival, 27th November, 2011, the students & faculty members were welcomed by Dr.Roger Brindley (Assoc. Vice President for Global Academic Programs), at College of Business, USF campus.


A lecture series was organized on the topics related to Business and Management. The faculty members of USF delivered interactive lectures on the

subjects such as Learn to Sell Yourself, Data Mining, Negotiations and Management Conflicts, Market Branding, International Services, Study abroad as a part of your degree etc. MITSOM College students had a quality time with USF students. The students of USF shared their experiences about their studies at USF.


The field trip to Nielsen – An International Company was also arranged by USF to enable students to understand working of International Companies.


The entire event was concluded on 2nd December, 2011 with valedictory function. The felicitation of Dr. Roger Brindley, Jackie Nelson, Mary Cardenas and Pavla Ozkul was done by Faculty members - Pallavi Adya and Sumita Joshi. MIT SOM College students expressed vote of thanks.
On 3rd December, Saturday, students visited NASA, Kennedy Space Center, Orlando. The Space Shuttle Experience was a thrilling one for students. Students also enjoyed a movie on APOLLO 11 space shuttle at IMAX theatre. The students had a great time at Disneyland on 3rd, 4th and  5th December, 2011. The tour ended on 7th December, 2011.
